Sand Box and Crandall

We took some time today to go see Memaw and Pepaw. We totally needed it and we LOVE how relaxed we always feel after spending time up there. Beau had SO much fun playing in the sand and walking around the yard with Memaw. Enjoy these presh pictures!

Spaghetti Time

Beau and I were spending the evening outside, just enjoying walking around the yard. I hadn't eaten dinner with him and Brandon earlier (upset stomach), but was starting to get hungry, so I made some quick spaghetti. Next thing I know, Beau asks to see my plate and well...I'll let the pictures explain the rest...

No joke, he ate over half my plate! I did, however, go back and replenish my portion. :)

Trying the Potty

 So Beau wanted to try the potty for the first time! I was SO surprised as we haven't really pushed him in this direction other than watching "Elmo's Potty Time." So we tried and, since we don't have a kiddo potty, he got kinda freaked out after he got up there. But, after I calmed him down, he went potty just a little bit, we made a HUGE deal of it, and he got a treat. We're still not going to push this hard just yet, we're thinking summer, but it's neat to see him getting into it himself. What a big boy, at almost 22 months!

Fun with Meme

Today Beau and I got up and ate a little breakfast together, just the two of us! Saturdays are our day together, and I SO look forward to them!We had some animal crackers, pancakes, and fruit for breakfast and Beau ate so well! Afterward, we got dressed and headed to Walmart to grab some milk and then it was off to visit Meme! We had so much fun with Meme. We played, went outside, went for a walk, and went out for pizza! Beau was SO excited about this! We just love our time with Meme and I just love my time with Beau!

Dad got to take a lunch break and join us and even obliged to wear the safari hat from the zoo at Beau's request. What a dad!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

 Today is St. Patty's Day and since I'm Irish (and come from a childhood that this was literally as big as Christmas to my mother), I decided to have some fun and wear green! Even Brandon wore green to work! My childhood school in Ohio had the mascot of the Fighting Irish and so green and gold were our school colors. So, lo and behold I wore a green dress and gold shoes to work today. I figure with a maiden name like Darby (which in fact DID have an "O" tagged on the front before the firsts of my ancestors over here dropped it), I pretty much have to support the day. Either way, it was fun. For dinner, I decided to make peanut butter and banana pancakes...with green food coloring! They were so yummy! For dessert we made cupcakes and put different drops of color in each to make them different. Beau was so excited to help and was doing great until...he had food coloring all over him. Oh well, he's almost 2, what more could I expect? I was proud of him for helping and then Dad whisked him away to take a bath while I cleaned up the kitchen and his new shirt he had gotten at the zoo that day. I'll let the pictures tell the rest, but let's just say the boy had such fun when he finally got to take a bite of "cake"!
