8 Months Already?

That just astounds me! Our little guy gets to be so much more fun with every passing day, and every day seems to be picking up speed! It just doesn't seem possible that 8 months have already gone by, but here we are! Here's what our precious Beau Elias is up to these days:

  • Crawling, crawling, crawling! That kid is always on the go! (Which means Mom is always on the go, ha!)
  • Pulling up to stand on any and everything he can find, be it stable or not (this has resulted in a few bumps and falls, to say the least)
  • Using our hands to walk; he wants to walk everywhere
  • When you put him down, he doesn't go to sit down, he now firmly plants his feet down and waits for you to "walk" with him
  • Gives lots of hugs and kisses to his fam (this including his mom, dad, Pops, Gran, and Aunt Linz so far)
  • Thinks watching Huck and Annie wrestle is a hoot!...until they get a little too loud for him, and then its all over
  • Into balls and cords of all sorts...yes, this means he is on watch 24/7
  • Is still very comfortable just staying with Mom or Dad when we go out...although now if people try to hold him, its not just me he'll want to have keep him, he's splitting that pretty evenly with Brandon as well
  • Is trying all sorts of food and really liking all that he's tried
  • Says "Mom, Mom, Moommmma!" and "Bi-blllle", but no "Daddy" yet...but soon hopefully!
  • He now curls his hair when he gets tired; it's REALLY adorable!
  • Love biting peoples' noses...but that just means he likes you! :)
  • We've cut our first tooth (4 days ago; bottom left) and we're well on our way to getting the bottom right through; teething is no fun and we know his mouth hurts when he tugs on his ear - weird, but true.
  • Loves to make "Indian noises" when you put your hand to his mouth - it's pretty funny
Beau, Daddy and I love you so much and are so thankful for you! We can't wait to see what new things are coming in this next month!

Pretty typical position for us!

LOVES his Daddy!

Loves his bath time toys!

Nap Time

Beau's recently had the hardest time falling and STAYING asleep. Usually this results in either Brandon or me holding him. Well this afternoon I had to get a few things done and so I tried lying him in his swing. This hasn't been working too well recently, but I decided to give it one more shot; it worked! I was able to get the things done that I needed to and even enjoyed a little lunch with Brandon when he came home. Here's a few shots of the sweet guy napping away.

Saturday Video

We videoed a little of our precious boy this morning and wanted to share. He's really getting the hang of pulling up, feeding himself, "talking," We've also cut our first tooth with the second coming right in behind! Busy times here at the Lehrmanns'. Enjoy our boy and click here!

My Favorite Cowboy

The Cowboys may have lost on TV today (although way to go even making it to the playoffs!), but I get to enjoy my very favorite one right here in my home!

Enjoying Food

We've been working on feeding Beau solids more often recently. He's had them since 6 months, but we've tended to miss days quite often, so the last couple weeks we've tried to be a little more diligent in our efforts to feed him some solid everyday. Today he rather enjoyed the sweet potatoes. Apparently he felt the need to let his WHOLE face enjoy their sweetness. Ah, the joys of parenthood! :)

Scootin' Around

It was actually nice out for a change today, so the boy and I took his scooter outside for a test drive. He really enjoyed touching all the buttons and being outside without freezing for a change. This kiddo is a TOTAL outdoors boy and has been from day one. I see a lot of hiking, biking, and camping in this guy's future!

What's a tough little boy without a little bit of camo?

Music to My Ears...

Beau said "Mama" today for the first time. And has been saying it all day long. And wanting to cuddle. Could I ask for more?

A Sign of Times Ahead

So now that we have a full-fledged crawler on our hands, NOTHING is safe! :) Beau seems to be completely captivated by the dog bowls and we have to constantly stay on him to make sure he doesn't start eating the food or playing in the water. Well, I got to him just a little too late and this was the face I got when telling him how we don't play in puppies' water.

So after moving him away from the bowl...he goes back AGAIN!

Needless to say, our disciplinary actions are starting to get a workout...ha! Oh my, I can only realize that this is just the beginning!

Tuxedo Man

Our sweet boy rang the new year in with his cool tuxedo onesie. I can't think of too many cuter ways to celebrate!

And click here and here to see Beau and his Aunt Linz singing the night away!

New Year, New Friends?

This year started off with two little ones in our house looking as if they're contemplating being friends. I don't know, what do you think?

Out with the Old, In with the New

New Year's Eve came fast this year! We have so much to be thankful for, most notable our precious Beau Elias. Tonight is the first night I can ever remember that I haven't gone to someone's house or out somewhere to celebrate. Instead we stayed at our house, I made homemade biscuits and eggs, cheesy potatoes, and sausage with homemade gravy to go on them (it's the last day of the year so we went all out on health, ha!). After we ate, we ran and got a [free] Redbox and some Phish food. We all took our baths, cuddled, and just now finished watching the movie and ate a little of our ice cream. I'm thinking now Brandon and I will see if we can stream the NYC ball drop at 11 PM here and then its off to bed for us! Brandon has to go to work in the morning, and Beau and I were up every hour last night.

I wanted to end this year with a picture that summed up our feelings for the past 365 days, so here it is:

Pure joy.

Happy New Year!

Fun at 7 Months!

The boy's seven months old today! I think we're slowly realizing how fast this whole parenting business goes by. It seems unreal to already realize that seven months have gone by and here we are! The boy's growing and becoming so interactive. Here are some of the other things Beau's up to at this point:

  • He's crawling! Yep, the boy's on the go. At the bottom of this post I have a link you can click on to watch the little one in action. So proud of him.
  • "Talking" up a storm! He likes to be a part of the conversation.
  • Laughing and smiling all the time.
  • He's become quite attached to his mommy recently; which I don't mind at all, but if he was going very willingly to you and is now slightly hesitant, don't worry, he's doing that with everyone right now!
  • Totally into bath time and water; we're thinking a pool party might be in the future for a first birthday
  • Loves Bible class
  • Everything's going into the mouth; everything.
  • He's wanting to take steps forward when he's on his toes and holding onto your hands
  • NOT sleeping at all. This has been quite a tough thing this month! He's waking up at 7 or 7:30 every morning (which isn't a bad thing at all), but he's not taking very good naps during the day (usually 20-40 mins, maybe twice or three times a day; but maybe) and then is going to bed somewhere between 8 and 9, but then waking up 5-6 times throughout the night. It's made for some rough mornings, but I just know we're gonna get through it.
So here are some pictures of our little guy (and some with his handsome dad!). Enjoy and look for the link at the bottom to see our precious Beau Elias crawling. (Unfortunately he got a little upset at first, but quickly recovered!)

Here's our little guy doing his new trick!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

What a wonderful 24 hours we've had! We had a white, snowy Christmas Eve over at Meme's house for Christmas Eve and had such fun! We ate, played BuzzWord, and had a fun round or two of Chinese Christmas - such a great way to spend the holidays. We left about 11 or so to go home and get ready for Santa's arrival! Brandon and I cleaned up the living room and laid out the guys' Santa suits for the morning. We even laid out Santa's cookies for when he came - and come he did! We woke up about 7:30 this morning and Beau was LOVING Christmas! This was our very first Christmas as a family and it was so special. Due to our current work situation, there wasn't much to be spent on Christmas, but I tell you, I think this one was the best of all. Brandon was so extremely thoughtful in what he got me and it reminded us about what the true meaning was of Christmas. And this afternoon at Mike and Lisa's has been amazing. It seems sometimes I can barely express my gratitude for the blessings God's given me. I get to a point where I almost choke up at the thought of the riches that abound in my life; the people God placed in my life, the opportunities he's given me, and the obedience he requires of me...all make me love him more and more.

All that to say, here are some pictures from the last day....Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve...at work.

Brandon had to go into work today to work on some things, so when it got close for quitting time (1:00), we ran by and grabbed a few Eve shots at the office. Hooray though that he's home now and doesn't go back until Monday! I just love Christmas, don't you?

A very happy boy after seeing his Daddy

Oh how much we love this little boy!

And how much I love this grown boy!

Merry Christmas! May your heart (and tummy!) be full!

Deck the Halls with "Beaus" of "Haley"...

Beau and Haley had to celebrate their Christmas a little early this year due to some traveling for the Price bunch, but boy did they have fun! Getting these two together is getting cuter each time. Haley girl is 10 1/2 months old (Beau will be 7 months on Sunday!) and is helping show Beau the ropes when it comes to sharing and playing with other kiddos; we appreciate all your help, Haley! The kiddos got to open presents and boy, Beau hit the jackpot! He got a terrific sounds playing steering wheel (to go with his keys he already has at home, ha!) and a Harley motorcycle that revs its engine and then zooms across the room! Beau's especially excited that he now has a motorcycle just like his Pops. ;) Here's some presh moments from our time with two of the sweetest kids we know; Merry FIRST Christmas, Haley and Beau!
