Perfect People
The last few days I've heard this song on the radio what seems to be pretty often. Upon really listening to the words, I'm touched by its message. What a great reminder.
"Perfect People" by Natalie Grant
Never let 'em see you when you're breaking
Never let 'em see you when you fall
That's how we live and that's how we try
Tell the world you've got it all together
Never let them see what's underneath
Cover it up with a crooked smile
But it only lasts for a little while
[CHORUS:]
There's no such thing as perfect people
There's no such thing as a perfect life
So come as you are, broken and scared
Lift up your heart and be amazed
And be changed by a perfect God
Suddenly it's like a weight is lifted
When you hear the words that you are loved
He knows where you are and where you've been
And you never have to go there again
[CHORUS]
Who lived and died to give new life
To heal our imperfections
So look up and see out let grace be enough
[CHORUS]
By a perfect God [5x]
Be changed by a perfect God
Be changed

Sneaky Peek!
Yesterday we had pictures made by the incredibly talented Taylor Jackson. She and Brandon have known each other since since they were young, so it was so nice to have a familiar face directing us. She was wonderful to work with as well; she allowed for time to feed Beau and even for him to take a nap - how many other photographers will let you do that?? If you ever need some pictures taken, I would CERTAINLY recommend Taylor hands down - and here's a sneak peek of the amazing work she does!

Beau before... (ha, he was still a little tuckered)
Thank you so much Taylor and keep posted for more pictures to come later!

Newborn to Infant
- picking up on your weight gain (you're almost 10 lbs - way to go!)
- staying awake MUCH more during the day and sleeping much better at night
- smiling all the time (and it just melts Mom and Dad's heart every time!)
- you're forming your laugh
- you went 5 hours last night between feedings - a first! Mom didn't know what to think!
- you aren't wanting to be cradled as much anymore (a little sad for us); you want to sit up and see what's going on and be in on the action!
- you love music and lights
- you've found yourself in the mirror and are amazed (no worries, we are too by you :) )
- your hair's starting to get a wave in it and your eyes are the deepest blue
We just love this little buddy of ours! Here's some fun pictures of the day, enjoy!

Terrific Tuesday!
Happy Tuesday! Today was quite a fun-filled day. It started off with some coffee and tummy time with the boy (which is starting to get much better!). Then the boy and I did a couple errands for my job before heading back home to get ready for my sister and her boyfriend to get here. While getting ready, my buddy fell right asleep! My sister and her boyfriend Daniel got here and brought some fun goodies for the buddy. We also had some gifts for her, so it was really fun exchanging presents when neither one of us was expecting anything from the other. We took them out to eat and then came back so Michelle could hold Beau for the first time. He had slept through lunch and finally woke up when we got back home - he was needing his rest! So Beau got to meet his aunt for the first time and would you know, she actually got a smile out of him - so sweet.
Then after they had left, Brandon came in with this surprise. He couldn't stay long, but just wanted to surprise me. Do I have the sweetest husband, or what? It's times like these that I don't know how I got him, but I sure am glad I did. :)
When Brandon got home we made our special homemade chicken barbeque pizza on whole wheat crust. It has 98% fat-free chicken, grilled onions, fresh minced garlic, some grated cheese, and a few other choice ingredients...very yummy! Beau had been up playing for quite some time, so we got him comfy in case he fell asleep while we ran to Target. I can now say that we're almost ready for family pictures on Saturday - I am SO excited!! :)
Now we're just relaxing before heading to bed...such a nice way to end such a nice day!

The Remedy
Whew! What a weekend! We, for the most part, just battened down the hatches here at the Lehrmann casa and spent time doing one of three things: cleaning, vegging, or loving on our sick boy! Yep, that's right, our sweet Beau caught a cold and has had SUCH a stuffy nose and nasal congestion. The poor buddy has had quite a time breathing while eating and sleeping, so needless to say this mom's been up quite a bit over the last 72 hours. We worked hard to make sure our nursing didn't get too messed up with his being sick and I'm happy to report things are moving along quite nicely. It was so nice to have Brandon home with us all weekend too. We bounced back and forth between playing with/taking care of the boy, cleaning, or having some time to ourselves. We got to spend a little time just the two of us after Beau went to sleep, but usually that was later at night, so one of us would start to fall asleep on the other, ha!
I took Beau to the doctor Friday and at first they weighed him since the PA last time (not his regular doctor) had mentioned she was concerned over his weight. They had even mentioned that he might need supplementing. Well, that was all this mama needed to hear to get motivated to show otherwise! We know our buddy started small (and still is), but he's definitely growing and getting bigger by the day. At his two month well check, he weighed 7 lbs 14 ozs...at this appointment (12 weeks), he weighed... 9 lbs 4 ozs! Way to go, Beau! The doctor said he was VERY pleased at his weight gain and even though we're still not really on the chart yet for weight, that he's doing just perfect. But we knew that all along. :)
So after Beau was diagnosed with a cold, I was told all I could really do was suction out his nose and put saline drops in, put a humidifier next to where he sleeps, give him Tylenol for any fever he kept having, and try putting him in his swing to sleep (so as to keep his head elevated). So we did just that. Tonight it seems he's starting to get a little better, which is such an answer to prayer. It's NO fun watching my sweet boy struggle to breathe!
So here are some pictures from our moments together this weekend. It was honestly just what we needed; time together without rushing everywhere else.
Sweet kisses from Dad
At first he was thinking he could get out of giving Mom kisses...
...but then realized how great they are!
Hugging Mom
He sees Dad caught us
Being SUCH a big boy!
He was NOT looking forward to what was about to happen... (suctioning out the nose)
He was SO tuckered out and not feeling well at all!

Trying to get some quality rest
So glad you're starting to feel better, Beau! I think your dad and I almost felt as bad (if not worse) about you being sick than you dealing with the sickness yourself! This parenting deal sure can tug on your heartstrings!

Water Baby
Our sweet buddy loves his water! This past weekend we tested out his swim trunks (a couple months ago one of the legs was too big for both of his legs!) and they fit MUCH better, a welcome sign that he's growing. Beau was so ready to get to enjoy the pool like everyone else had been all summer!

Not a Newbie Anymore!
Friday morning Beau made the official transition from newborn diapers to size 1. We were realizing his NBs were getting a little tight around the thigh, so an upgrade was in order! He's also out of his NB clothes and has graduated to 0-3 mos - way to go buddy!

Growing like a weed
Our little guy is getting so fun! It seems like over the last couple weeks Beau's personality has just emerged and it is so wonderful! He gives us smiles all the time, although some of my favorites are when he first sees me or his dad...so sweet. He's really been building on his relationship with Brandon, I tell ya, those two have such a good time together that it's hard to sometimes get a word in! Beau and I have been playing more and while tummy time is still not something he's totally into, he's getting much better at it.
This week's been a little rough for the buddy and me as I've been working a bunch more, which has meant that he's been bouncing around from person to person. It's been making for some almost seperation anxiety-type symptoms with the boy. For example, he'll go 3 hours or so inbetween his feedings when I'm not there, but as soon as he and I get home, it's like he gets on a nursing frenzy. He also is HATING for me to not hold him (which I'm assuming the nursing is just another way that we're being close) and will just cry almost inconsolably if I leave the room for any amount of time (i.e. to use the restroom) only to immediately get better and bury his head in my neck when I pick him up. It's so weird and has only flared up this week, so for now I'm just praying we can work through this. I love my little guy so much and hate being away from him for any amount of time (I'm trying to keep it to just a couple hours a day), but right now I just don't know what to do to make him feel better. For now I'm just sticking to lots of cuddle time and bonding.
I've also been pondering doing some decorating to our home. Namely, I'm looking at painting scripture on our walls. We have a few walls throughout our home that have been left blank and one night Brandon and I were discussing what to do with them and we came up with that idea. At first I think we just thought it was a neat idea, but not something we'd actually do, but the more I think about it, why WOULDN'T I want to have scripture surrounding us? Not only will it be wonderful for Beau to be surrounded in the Word, but will be an encouragement for Brandon and myself as well. Now I'm just going over which verses we'd like! Suggestions?

Busy Weekend!
Whew! What a weekend! I'm flat out exhausted. However, we had so much fun this weekend and Beau got to see so many of his buddies! :)
Friday we had a lunch date with a wonderful older (not "OLD", just older than us) couple, Keith and Mayre. We ate and discussed so many topics! I think I could've sat there all day if Brandon hadn't had to get back to work. Beau was SO good too, he hardly fussed the entire time at the restaurant, way to go! We definitely are looking forward to asking them out again. Later on Beau and I had a play date with Emily and her sweet boy Jackson. Jackson was sweet enough to let Beau play with his play mat and even showed him how to use it. :) It was so nice to get to catch up with Emily and to see just how BIG Jackson is getting! That sweet buddy is getting to be such a big boy. He turns 2 next month and I know how excited Em is to get his party all together. Beau and I really enjoyed getting to spend some time with them, talking all about how precious little guys are.
Saturday Brandon and I went to Hillsboro to the outlet mall to look for a dress for me. Beau went and stayed with his Meme for awhile and he had so much fun! (I'm pretty sure Meme did too, ha) It was so nice to walk around with Brandon and browse the different stores. I didn't find a dress, but we found a couple of cute CUTE outfits for our Beau-rito! We were looking for some big boy pjs (12-18 mos) so that he has some when he gets a little (or should I say a lot?) bigger. We were laughing because I think our favorite store to shop in on our shopping excursion was Carter's. Boy, are we parents or what? Later on we picked up our guy and stopped by Gran and Pops to drop Huck and Annie off for the night while we went out of town. Beau showed them how well he's been sitting in his Bumbo recently. Then we went to Crowley where we were able to spend some time with Adam, Alisha, Hannah, Josh, and Amber - whew! It was Josh and Amber's anniversary (11 years - how awesome!), so Hannah was watching their sweet buddies and Adam and Alisha gave her a ride. Beau got to see his old bud Graham and meet a new one, Milla. Beau was quite taken with Milla, he actually mentioned later on that he thought she was the prettiest baby he had seen yet! Needless to say, Beau's looking forward to more opportunities to woo Miss Milla. :) Not to say that Beau didn't enjoy seeing that Graham, he thinks that guy's great and loves that they're so close in age...lots of fun milestones to hit together in the future. We visited for quite awhile and then headed home to get in bed so we could get up for church the next morning.
Today we went to church and then went to Gran and Pops for lunch. After that Brandon went with Adam and Ben to the movies, I went to a baby shower, and Beau decided to cuddle with Pops and take a Sunday nap. Later on we got together with Adam and Alisha and their sweet boys and watch the guys all go swimming. Beau got to see his buddy Graham once again! Later tonight we played on his play mat and had tummy time before getting our bath, nursing, and going out for the night. I'm looking forward to hitting the sack in just a bit, but this weekend was so much fun!

Play Time
This morning Beau and I were in his room playing when I decided to change it up a bit and try him in his Bumbo and read to him that way. He did SO good! He sat like a champ for a little while, then would slowly lean to one side...it was so cute. But he really enjoyed our reading time and then proceeded to "tell" me just how much while he played on his mat. Oh how I love my mornings with him!
Being SUCH a big boy!
Looking at the pictures
My little man, shaking his rattle all by himself!
Yep, he's one tough guy!
Then later tonight we played in the living room while Daddy worked so he could still hear our sweet boy's laughs. He was so much fun and is getting so vocal. Our little guy will be 10 weeks on Wednesday, how unreal!
Tryin' on Talkin'
This past Saturday we were all laying around enjoying breakfast in our pjs when Beau decided he wanted to let us know how much he enjoyed playing with his play mat. It was the most presh thing ever! We just sat there and "talked" with him and laughed at how sweet he was. He's really amped up the amount of smiles and giggles he gives us this week - and we couldn't be more excited! I think he melts our hearts a little more with every grin. :)
Enjoy watching our buddy!

Date Night!
So I'm changing up a little of what I usually blog about - namely, this is mostly about time spent with my hubby, and not Beau. But don't worry, Beau had plenty of fun on his own. :)
Friday night Brandon and I went out to Texas de Brazil in downtown Fort Worth to celebrate his birthday. He had been talking about wanting to dine here since we first started dating (just about 4 years ago - wow!), but I'm honestly not a huge meat eater and knowing how much it costs to dine there, I simply couldn't justify him paying for me to eat there. However, knowing how much he's wanted to go, I signed him up with TdB online ahead of his birthday. Well, they give you a complimentary dinner when it's your birthday, and since we hadn't had a real date since Beau's birth, I figured this would be just the thing to make him smile (and make me not totally cringe at spending so much money!). We made plans for Beau to stay with his Gran and Pops that night and I made a bottle for him and packed his pjs. No, he didn't stay the night, (Brandon and I don't think we're quite ready for that!) but he was given his bath, fed, and then laid down to start his rest for the night. He was such a sweet bundle when we got back, Gran was just sitting in the rocker, rocking away! Apparently he had been a wonderful little boy (as if we ever doubted that, ha!), and had taken his bath like a champ and had been laying down in their bed between them, but had gotten a little fussy, so she came out to the living room and started rocking and tah-dah!, he was magically back asleep. He did wake up though as soon as we transferred him to Brandon, but he was such a sweet boy and we had really been looking forward to seeing him, that we didn't mind!
Back to our date though. WOW, that place was amazing! It had a 60 item salad bar! I couldn't believe it. We went and got our salads and other items off the bar and headed back up to our table (we dined on the second floor) and then proceeded to get served different meats of our choice straight off hot skewers. I tried some parmesan chicken, bacon wrapped chicken, Brazilian sausage, and top choice sirloin...yum! I also had a bite of Brandon's bacon wrapped filet mignon and lamb. I can't even begin to tell you all that Brandon tried though, that man loves his meat! We also had these little cheese bread bites brought to our table and were so yummy. Most importantly though, it was so nice to spend some quality alone time with Brandon. It was so good for us to have that time together and just catch up on everything that's been going on the last couple months and what we plan for in the coming months and years. When we got done and walked outside, we saw it had started raining. We didn't bring an umbrella with us, but it was light enough that we just decided to brave it and walk to the car. It wasn't that far and I didn't see the need to make him go get it and come get me. So we walked hand in hand in the rain until we came to a big pool of water in the road. I was wearing heels and a skirt, so my husband being the gentleman that he is picked me up and carried me across - what a lucky girl I am! We drove home holding hands. :) I love date nights!
Front of the restaurant
This was Brazilian soda that Brandon said I had to try...it was really good! Behind the glass are garlic mashed potatoes they brought and bananas you were to take a bite of inbetween each changing of meat to cleanse your palate...fancy!
